Learning and the Internet

As the Internet continues to grow and the World Wide Web becomes a permanent fixture in our lives, more and more people are going on line to find the resources they need for on-going education.

This search takes many forms. Some are looking for an edge in their business or help in expanding their career skills. They could be looking for a full-fledged online learning university level academic program or anything from certificate training in a profession to an online degree such as an Associate degree or even post-graduate studies for Masters or PhD online degrees.

Others are looking to gain specific knowledge, perhaps for business, perhaps for simple pleasure or in service of a long range goal or a long held desire.

The rise in home schooling has also brought parents on line looking for materials to use in home study lessons for their children. As part of the home schooling phenomenon, people are also interested in improving their parenting skills. We get very little useful preparation for the awesome job of being a parent and raising our children. Acquiring parenting skills on a trial-by-error basis can put a child's development at risk and more and more parents are realizing that this is something they need to know more about.
